John L. Mack focuses his practice on commercial and class action litigation.


Before joining Fink Bressack, John practiced at Jenner & Block in Chicago, where he concentrated on complex litigation matters, including contract disputes and white collar investigations. After returning home to Michigan, John practiced in the litigation department of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn. John’s pro bono work has included assisting in appeals for death row inmates in several states, as well as assisting in a Section 1983 suit by an inmate challenging the provision of inadequate medical care.

John received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Princeton University in 2000. He then worked as an administrator in intercollegiate athletics, including serving as the Associate Director of Championships at the Big Ten Conference headquarters and a Senior Associate Athletics Director at Northwestern University. At Northwestern, John had oversight of the media, marketing, and corporate sponsorship’s departments, as well as five athletic teams.

John received his juris doctor from Northwestern University School of Law in 2014, graduating cum laude. While at Northwestern Law School, he was captain of the Bartlitt Center National Trial Team and served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Law and Social Policy. John also represented juvenile clients at trial through the Northwestern Juvenile Criminal Defense Legal Clinic. He also served as an intern for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois. During his time at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he assisted in the prosecution of offenses committed on federal property.

John is admitted to practice law in both Michigan and Illinois and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Macomb County Bar Association, and the state bar associations of Michigan and Illinois.

A native of New Haven, Michigan, John and his wife Alleda reside in Harrison Township with their three children. There, he is honored to serve as the pastor of Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
